- First Choice Quality—here the granite is what the name implies, the finest quality to be achieved. Having the first choice quality granite upon receipt finishing the process implies only cutting the granite slab to size, profile, etc during the fabrication stage. The polishing process should no display any sorts of visible flaws and have a very shiny surface. With first choice quality granite during the fabrication process the amount of waste material is limited to small quantities.
- Commercial Quality—typically with this grade the granite will not polish quite as well and clear visible defects such as blotches or small natural hairline cracks will remain on its surface. Despite all this, a good manufacturer and sawyer will have the possibility to use the granite slab making the most of it.
- Second Quality—this grade of granite typically is used for larger contract or larger projects where the granite slabs have to be cut into smaller modules. The granite will display different repairable natural defects together with blotches. Nevertheless, any fabricator with a large experience knows this is an ingenious way of reducing costs on raw material despite the fact that more time will be required to get the best granite slab.
