Why Choose Us
Generally a substantial number of companies use flatbed trucks to transport granite slabs as the granite rock slabs can have different weights ranging from hundreds to thousands of pounds.
The granite slabs are transported laid vertically on storage racks which are usually made of metal and/or wood in an A-frame structure. The granite slabs are then strapped in onto this A-frame structure and put into the flat bed by the distributor.
The slabs may be made secure transversely and vertically to the frames before they are loaded. Shoring ensures that the frames do not move vertically and tip. Direct lashing is used not to allow any lengthwise shake of the slabs.
Transporting granite slabs can be a tricky thing as the loads can shift or if the granite is being transported by train the tracks can get deformed or fail.
